LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Alorica announced Thursday that it is partnering with the Military Veterans Project to help veterans.
The Military Veterans Project raises money and awareness around the country about the high suicide rate among vets. Each day an average of 22 veterans take their own life.
Alorica has volunteered to have each of its employees make 22 calls to raise money for MVP. They both hope they can make civilian life better for those who served.
“So they come home from battle; when they do we, want to make sure that we can reintegrate them into society, into a job, and a career and help them so that we can prevent all suicides among our veterans,” said Alorica spokesman Ken Muche.
Alorica also announced that it is adding 175 new jobs to its Lafayette facility.
“We couldn’t be prouder to expand in such a great community. We’re in the people-to-people business and there’s just great, down-to-earth people here,” Muche said.
A meet and greet was held Thursday for applicants to come in and apply. There are a variety of full-time and part-time positions available.
After all 175 new employees are hired, the total number of employees at the Lafayette facility will be 510.
